Lourdes College of Nursing organized an awareness session on drug abuse titled “Laharivimuktha Keralam” on November 15th 2024, in collaboration with the Kochi Police Wing. The session began at 8:00 AM in the college auditorium and saw active participation from Nursing students.
The awareness session was led by Mr. Babu John P, Sub-Inspector of Police, Social Policing Wing, Kochi. He provided crucial insights into the role of policing in society, crime prevention strategies, and the importance of community participation in ensuring public safety. Key topics discussed included the concept of social policing aimed at involving the community in crime prevention, the police’s role in society, personal safety measures, legal rights and responsibilities, cybercrime and online safety, as well as reporting mechanisms and initiatives related to social policing, such as the CHIRI helpline, HOPE project, DCRC, Women’s Cell, and D-DAD Centre Kochi.
