A Legacy of Nursing Excellence

Lourdes School of Nursing was established on July 16, 1969, through the vision and commitment of the late Msgr. Francis Fernandez, the first Director of Lourdes Hospital, and the inaugural Principal, Sr. Lucilla Clerici of the Congregation of Sisters of Charity. The school’s mission has always been to develop highly skilled nursing professionals capable of delivering comprehensive healthcare services in hospitals and communities.

Starting with just 12 students in 1969, Lourdes School of Nursing quickly expanded. By 1999, we were admitting 50 students per batch to meet the growing demand for qualified nurses. The establishment of Lourdes College of Nursing in 2002 marked another significant milestone in our journey, solidifying our role as a leading institution in nursing education.

In 2002, Lourdes College of Nursing was founded under the leadership of the late Rt. Rev. Dr. Daniel Acharuparambil, with the vision of providing high-quality nursing education.
