The committee ensures the quality of PG dissertations, UG and departmental projects, and will be referred to the Lourdes Hospital Ethics Committee for approval. In addition to suggesting actions to improve the institution’s research-enabling environment, the committee also serves as an advisory body for enhancing the caliber of research carried out by academics and students.
Frequency of meeting: As and when required
The Lourdes Hospital’s ethics committee is registered with the Department of Health Research and Central Drug Standard Control Organization (DHR&CDSCO) and is organized in accordance with ICMR guidelines.
IEC is essential to ensure ethical compliance and track the advancement of research projects. The protection of study participants’ rights, privacy, and safety is the primary responsibility of ethics committees. They evaluate research protocols, consider ethical aspects, and keep tabs on the advancement of authorized research initiatives.
Quorum: The quorum shall be 2/3 rd of the total members.
