The Mental Health Nursing Department plays a vital role in equipping nursing students with the tools they need to care for individuals with mental health disorders. It prepares nurses to work in a variety of settings, including psychiatric hospitals, community clinics, rehabilitation centres, and even in general medical wards where patients may also have mental health needs. Through academic instruction, clinical practice and research, the students gain a deep understanding of mental health and are empowered to provide compassionate, evidence-based care. We adopt various teaching and learning methods like seminar, symposium, group discussion, case studies, clinical teaching, bedside rounds and procedure demonstration by utilizing the clinical facilities. The faculty members are actively involved in teaching the undergraduate and post graduate students, guiding them inpatient care, research activities and co-operating various extension programmes along with psychiatric unit in the hospital.
