INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY CELEBRATIONS

To mark International Nurses Day, Lourdes Hospital and Lourdes College of Nursing jointly organized a series of events celebrating the dedication and service of nurses while inspiring future professionals.

The main celebration was held on 12th May 2025 at Lourdes Hospital Auditorium, beginning with a Thanksgiving Holy Mass followed by a formal function.The program aimed to acknowledge the tireless service of nurses and express deep gratitude for their dedication. Ms. Meera K, IAS, served as the Chief Guest and shared a touching tribute to the nurses who had cared for her family and contributed significantly to society. Distinguished guests included Fr. George Sequeira, Fr. Vimal Francis, Dr. Santhosh, Dr. Binu Upendran, Prof. Sr. Rufeena, Sr. Rachil Thomas, and Sr. Alice. The celebration featured cultural performances by nurses, and a donation collected by the staff was generously contributed to support dialysis patients at the hospital.

Complementing this event, a continuation of the celebrations was held on 15th May 2025 at Lourdes College of Nursing for students and faculty. The program included a Memory Test competition for faculty members, where Ms. Sumi Jose and Ms. Vincy Vincent secured first and second prizes, respectively. A special event titled the “Nightingale’s Challenge” was also organized for students, drawing participation from over 14 nursing students. The winners of the Nightingale’s Challenge were Ms. Elizabeth Johny and Ms. Ashly Shaju. These activities aimed to celebrate the spirit of nursing and highlight the professional skills and intellectual engagement of both staff and students

Fr. Vimal Francis, who graced the college event as the Chief Guest, addressed the students with an inspiring message, reminding them of the divine nature of the nursing profession and its deep-rooted purpose of service and compassion. Together, both events served as a meaningful tribute to nurses, reflecting the commitment of Lourdes

Hospital and Lourdes College of Nursing to uphold and celebrate the values of the nursing profession.
