PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION (PTA)

It is a vibrant organization comprising the parents of all college students and the teaching faculty. It serves as a common forum for parents and teachers to interact, aiming to enhance academic standards, uphold discipline, and support the overall development of the college. The parent-teacher association supports both the institution and its educators, while also encouraging active parental involvement in the college’s various activities.

OBJECTIVES

  • To foster and promote mutual understanding and cooperation between the teaching staff, students, and guardians of the college.
  • To inculcate in the members a keen interest in the functioning and progress of the college.
  • To plan and implement measures that enable members to actively and meaningfully contribute to the development, improvement, and welfare of the college.
  • To encourage all parents to effectively cooperate with the college authorities in maintaining discipline and high academic standards among the students.
  • To define appropriate strategies and means to prevent student unrest and to support the college authorities in ensuring smooth functioning, especially during times of stress or crisis.
  • To take suitable actions and make representations to the government and other concerned authorities on matters such as expansion of facilities, introduction of new courses, improvement of hostel amenities, and other issues concerning the overall progress of the college.
  • To institute scholarships, awards, and prizes to encourage students in academics and other wholesome activities, in alignment with the rules of the college.
  • To plan and execute any initiatives that are beneficial or advantageous to the students and/or the college.
  • To convene meetings and conventions involving students’ guardians and teachers for collaborative discussions and planning.

The term of office of the committee shall be one year (The year for this purpose shall be from first January to 31st December).

The committee for a year shall be elected in the month of December.

QUORUM

General body : 20 or 1/5 of the total number of members whichever is less.
